ABOUT THE ARTIST

MATE ART (Jan Matejak) focuses on teaching the layered and direct oil painting techniques as applied by the Old Flemish Masters, specializing in the Renaissance layered technique and the technical aspects thereof.
Jan’s aim is not only to rediscover their qualities, skills and knowledge, but above all, to pass this on, across regions, countries and continents, to people who, like him, have the desire to paint a classical work.
Driven by this inner urge, he creates and runs websites, the contents of which include teaching materials, PDF files and videos that are available (to download) free of charge. Thanks to this philanthropic approach, anyone interested in this form of art can learn the basic skills required and, above all, avoid the transgressions, mistakes and dead ends inherent in all new beginnings.
